Jessie Jones Brings Extensive Youth Entrepreneurship Education Experience to Lemonade Day

We are honored to have Jessie Jones serve on the Lemonade Day National Board of Directors. Ms. Jones brings more than 10 years of youth entrepreneurship education experience to benefit the Lemonade Day mission. She has authored published curriculum and written and spoken extensively on the topic of K-12 youth entrepreneurship. 

Ms. Jones served as regional director for Lemonade Day Northeast Ohio from 2014 through 2020. Under her leadership, the community won national awards for three consecutive years – 2017, 2018 and 2019. Ms. Jones also received the Lemonade Day National President’s Award in 2019. She has been instrumental in establishing and leveraging collaborative relationships with strategic entrepreneurship education content providers. Ms. Jones is a key player in developing impactful ecosystems where youth are taught essential life skills and develop an entrepreneurial mindset, which is critical to addressing school, career and life problems. Ms. Jones works in communities across the country to influence the integration of youth into entrepreneurship ecosystems, where they can make community connections and develop foundational tools that help bridge equity and opportunity gaps. 

Ms. Jones joined Young Entrepreneur Institute at University School based in Hunting Valley, Ohio, in April 2012 as the K-8 program director. In September 2019, she was promoted to afterschool program director. In this role, she is responsible for providing opportunities for K-12 students in the out-of-school-time setting to develop entrepreneurial skills. Her work focuses on expanding experiences in entrepreneurship for youth by promoting programs offered through organizations like Lemonade Day, VentureLab, and Empowered, which collectively serve as an entrepreneurship ecosystem with a pathway of enaggements from grades K all the way through to post-secondary. She has enjoyed working with thousands of kids and educators through these networks. 

“Having the opportunity to impact our youth as well as help them influence their own financial well-being has been extremely rewarding,” said Jones. “Building stronger local economies is like playing the long game and that starts with the kids.” Together with Lemonade Day National CEO Nicole Cassier-Mason, and Board Chair Joe Daly, Jessie and her fellow board members have made great strides in bringing Lemonade Day’s amazing program to a broader audience.
